Abstract

Dry Powder Medium (DPM) is commonly used as a nutrient source for many bioprocess applications. Current methods of DPM manufacturing have inherent shortcomings yielding product that is sub-optimal for biopharmaceutical production. We have developed an alternative dry format process, termed Advanced Granulation Technology (AGT), to produce a totally complete and homogeneous nutrient medium in granular format. The advantages of the AGT process were previously demonstrated with several complex protein-free and chemically-defined media. Here, we apply the AGT process at several manufacturing scales from pilot to full-scale production to demonstrate biological function and biochemical homogeneity.
